Sofistar was founded in 2011 by three partners. The company is based in Lugano, Switzerland and has offices in London.
Our main ambition is to meet our clients needs by providing high quality , efficient and robust software solutions.

Massimo Brignoni, Dipl. phys. ETH
After teaching physics, Massimo joined the software industry in 2000. He worked as a software developer and as a business consultant before starting his management career as IT director and board member in a financial services company. Before joining Sofistar, he was managing director of the IT and Financial services company of Dominion Group, an investment funds boutique based in London and Guernsey. |

Max Butti CAIA, IMC
Max started his career at Banca della Svizzera Italiana in Lugano as equity option trader. He then worked for Societe’ Generale as derivatives sales/trader. In 1993 he joined Merrill Lynch Capital Markets where he covered equity derivatives structured products marketing and sales in the Middle East and Southern Europe. In 2001 he moved to Euronext.liffe where he was responsible for Single Stock Futures and where he led the acquisition of Cscreen and the launch of Bclear. From 2006 to 2010 he was Strategic Development Director at Liquid Capital Securities. After a brief stint in 2010-11 at Deutsche Bank as a program manager for Global Equity Derivatives Sales, he joined Sofistar as a managing partner. |
